Guided Charters
for Kenai River Kings on your Alaska Fishing Vacation

This is where the tides from Cook
Inlet bring on a daily basis the largest King Salmon found anywhere in the
world, a record 97.4 pound Kenai King Salmon,
was landed just downstream from the lodge.
ALASKA
JUNE / JULY
KENAI RIVER & COOK INLET
We will fish for King
Salmon on the Kenai and Halibut in Cook Inlet and Katchamak Bay. The Kenai
River is located Southwest of Anchorage, Alaska on the beautiful Kenai
Peninsula and has the reputation of being the most famous sport fishing
destination in Alaska. The Kenai's glacial turquoise waters host four
Salmon species, resident and sea-run Dolly Varden, and trophy Rainbow
Trout, creating a sport anglers paradise of which there is no equal. The
river flows through the natural wonder known as the Kenai Peninsula and
offers scenery of snow capped mountain ranges, an abundance of wildlife,
including moose, bald eagles, brown bear and caribou and enjoys one of the
mildest climates in Alaska.

KENAI
WORLD RECORD KING SALMON
On
May 17, 1985, Les Anderson of Soldotna, AK landed the all-tackle world
record king salmon…this 97-pound, 4-ounce beast from the Kenai River. The
mammoth Chinook was nearly 5 feet long and had an amazing 37.5-inch girth!
The improbable catch took place during the Kenai’s June
run of king Salmon.

KENAI
RIVER FISH
These giant King's,
(Chinook) Salmon are the most sought after species in the river and the
Kenai hosts the largest King's on the planet. The Kenai King's average
25
-40 Lbs. with several each season reaching
from 50 to 70-80 Lbs. and reaching lengths
of nearly 4 1/2 feet. The current sport fishing world record King Salmon, 97
Lbs. 4 oz. was caught on the Kenai by local angler Les Anderson. Anglers
will travel from all over the world for the chance to "hook-up" with these
monster Kings. Although the powerful King's are the main attraction on
the river, three other salmon species - Silver (coho), Sockeye (Red) and
Pink (humpy) Salmon are available in extraordinary abundance as well as
large Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden. All tackle for guided
fishing will be provided, but be sure to bring your light gear for bank
fishing.

LODGING
We have a wide range of
accommodations available from rustic camping to motel/hotel or luxury log

TRAVEL
The Kenai Peninsula is
located in South-central Alaska approximately 160 miles Southwest of
Anchorage. Anchorage is served by most major airlines and Kenai Airport is
served by local commuter flights. We recommend that you fly into Anchorage
and rent a car for the drive to Kenai and for sightseeing during your stay
with us. The drive from Anchorage to Kenai is about 3 hours on a paved
highway and includes beautiful scenery such as the breathtaking Portage
Glacier, Kenai National Refuge, abundant wildlife, and you will follow the
magnificent Kenai River from it's head waters. If you do not wish to rent
a car in Anchorage, you will need to book a 30-minute commuter flight from
Anchorage to Kenai. Rental cars are also available in Kenai and should be
reserved well in advance. Our guided 5 day salmon fishing trips on the Kenai
start Tuesday morning and end Saturday evening so we recommend that you
book your flight to arrive in Kenai on Monday and depart on Sunday. Travel
can be arranged on the
internet or a travel agency.
